Fairy tales and evidence
In 2008, as part of the Liverpool European Capital of Culture year, Liverpool University organised a literary festival at which I was invited to speak. At the time Richard Dawkins was in the news because of an answer he gave in an interview about children’s stories and science. I thought it would be interesting to think about the way we actually respond to stories, and what evidence we could expect to find in support of what we say about it.
